Between November 2002 and July 2003, an outbreak of SARS in southern China caused an eventual 8,096 cases and 774 deaths reported in multiple countries with the majority of cases in Hong Kong. Explain and illustrate using a demand and supply diagram, the effect of the SARS epidemic on the tourism market in Hong Kong between November 2002 and July 2003. If you were the general manager of a luxury property in Hong Kong at that time, what would you have done to minimise the probable revenue loss?

(c) Assume that you are the general manager of a five star hotel in Sydney. Are online travel agencies a substitute or a complement to your distribution channel? Explain.
